Kameron Hurley Is The Best

When your favourite writers reply to your tweets or even retweet you, it's amazing. But when they send you lots of cool goodies for free because you're a fan? It's FREAKING AWESOME.

So, a few days ago my swag arrived! It got from USA to Finland pretty fast. The Blood & Brutal Women Swag Bag from Kameron Hurley included:

- 8.5” x 11” glossy colour copy of the Mirror Empire map
- signed God's War, Infidel, and Rapture book plates
- exclusive unpublished SF body horror chapbook, "The Corpse Archive"
- eternal fan happiness

Oatly Vegan Milk

Oatly is the Swedish maker of vegan oat-based products. “No milk. No soy. No badness.” They make 100% plant-based milk, ice cream, vanilla sauce, cooking cremes,  iMat fraiche and yoghurts. (Here are their products available in Finland and other countries.) Recently a new apple-pear drink appeared in the local shops, and I had to try it. As always with Oatly, it was delicious. (⌒▽⌒)

New(ish) books ^^

Last December my book shelves got a few new inhabitants, but then I forgot to tell you about them. Better later than never, right? :D *forever scatter-minded*

First, my birthday books. Cakes are good of course, but I prefer to get booooks. ^^

Codename Sailor V was a gift from Katya to Katya. :D This is the manga where the Sailor Moon world started. At first there was only Sailor Venus, but soon Naoko Takeuchi created a new manga called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon with many more Sailor Senshi, and then the anime was made, and it conquered the world, and we all still love it because it's awesome. (^o^)/

February reading: oceans, Pluto and cute baby bats

Quite a delicious list of everything I've read in February introduced to you by the Spotted Dragon!

武内 直子 『美少女戦士セーラームーン』 vol. 5 (Naoko Takeuchi “Sailor Moon” vol. 5) [Japan]
Wu Ming-Yi “The Man with the Compound Eyes” [Taiwan]
Issui Ogawa “The Lord of the Sands of Time” [Japan]
Jeff VanderMeer “Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction” [USA]
武内 直子 『美少女戦士セーラームーン』 vol. 6 (Naoko Takeuchi “Sailor Moon” vol. 6) [Japan]
Nnedi Okorafor “Lagoon” [USA]

Wonderbook
At first I got this book from the library, but soon I bought my own copy. Wonderbook is a cool illustrated guide for the writers of speculative fiction. Really fun quirky drawings there!

Fanart: Princess miko

It's fanart time again! Allow me to introduce...

princess miko and the royal bunny!

Guitarist and vocalist of exist†trace, miko loves bunnies and Cheburashka. I chose a bunny this time. ^^ By the way, this is a magical bunny – she can fly and sing cutely! (The bunny doesn't play guitar though. Maybe it is time for some royal lessons?)

Happy Birthday, Ira!

My mysterious and beautiful friend Ira, Happy Birthday!
(((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

This little doodle is for you!
Special guest star: the Nuclear Owl.

It's based on Ira's actual clothes (she's cool like that*). ^-^
But I didn't choose this outfit just as an excuse to draw more corsets, I swear!

The Bread House

I was eating this olive bread peacefully, and then...

A dinosaur showed up!
And they were like “I like it! It's mine!”
