Back from the library with...

So, today I was supposed to get just one book from the library and somehow three more jumped into my hands?! >w<

Here they are!

A Drunken Dream and Other Stories by Moto Hagio
Japan
“Forty years ago, the legendary manga artist Moto Hagio reinvented the shōjo (girl's comics) genre with an ongoing series of whip-smart, psychologically complex, and tenderly poetic stories. Here now, in English for the very first time, as the debut release in Fantagraphics Books' ambitious manga line of graphic novels, are ten of the very best of these tales.
The work in A Drunken Dream and Other Stories spans Hagio's entire career, from 1970's "Bianca" to 2007's "The Willow Tree," and includes the mind-bending, full-color title story; the famously heartbreaking "Iguana Girl"; and the haunting "The Child Who Comes Home"–as well as "Autumn Journey," "Girl on Porch With Puppy," the eerie conjoined-twins shocker "Hanshin: Half-God," "Angel Mimic," and one of the saddest of all romance stories, "Marié, Ten Years Later."
A Drunken Dream and Other Stories is supplemental with a feature-length interview with Hagio, where discusses her art, her career, and her life with the same combination of wit, candor, and warmth that radiates from every panel of her comics.”

Höh! ...ja muita sarjakuvakertomuksia lapsille by Milla Paloniemi, Anni Nykänen, Antti Hintsa, Karri Lehtonen, Joonas Lehtimäki, Tuuli Hypén
Finland
A book of comics for children.
“Tiedätkö mikä yhdistää laiskiaisenpoikasta, pitsoja rakastavaa tähtitieteilijää, nirsoa prinsessaa, joukkoa petoeläimiä, robottia ja sankarijänistä?
Ne kaikki seikkailevat omissa tarinoissaan tässä hurjan jännittävässä ja mukaansatempaavassa sarjakuvakirjassa. Kertomusten takana on joukko Suomen eturivin sarjakuvantekijöitä.”

I love this groggy frog! (sammakko means frog in Finnish)

Little White Duck: A Childhood in China by Na Liu, Andrés Vera Martínez
China, USA
“The world is changing for two girls in China in the 1970s. Da Qin—Big Piano—and her younger sister, Xiao Qin—Little Piano—live in the city of Wuhan with their parents. For decades, China's government had kept the country separated from the rest of the world. When their country's leader, Chairman Mao, dies, new opportunities begin to emerge. Da Qin and Xiao Qin soon learn that their childhood will be much different than the upbringing their parents experienced.
Eight short stories—based on the author's own life—give readers a unique look at what it was like to grow up in China during this important time in history.”

Goodnight Darth Vader by Jeffrey Brown
USA
“Episode: Bedtime. Darth Vader's parenting skills are tested as young Luke and Leia won't go to sleep. Can he calm them by reading a story featuring, Han Solo, Yoda, Boba Fett, and others as they each settle down for the night?”
